RPM's when towing

Payload numbers

posted this on the 2nd gen forum, but i thought all of you who pull might like to know about a problem that has presented itself recently. watch out for clutch failure in your 2001 and above limited slip diffs, the whole unit is replaced as a core, and it takes forever. our mechanics at our friendly dealer said it was 2nd behind the fuel pump problems... i haven'nt heard that before, but when it took 10 days to fix, well, that aint fun...

AS requested in the other forum, more facts please?

What lube used?

How often changed?

Was anti-slip modifier used in proper %?

What type of use was normal for the truck?

A LS differential DOES require more attention that a plain one, and is more sensitive to lubricants and service intervals...
