Let me give you guys one piece of warning. I've been to the salt flats a number of times when I lived in California helping out a friend that won both the 750cc and 1100cc records motorcycle classes back in the late 80's (Doug Meyer). Salt get's into EVERYTHING on your vehicle. After a weekend at the flats we'd have to tear down his bike's completely - and you wouldn't believe the amount of salt in the bearing, etc. Even after all of our cleaning the bikes were still in rough shape 4 years later because of corrosion in moving parts. Just thought I'd warn you - I wouldn't take my truck out on the salt flats.
