LT285-70R/17E tire, will it fit in spare tire space?

Today I was reassured by a BigO tire salesman that BFG will soon produce the AT/KO tire in size LT285-70R/17 Load Range E. I was told they will be available in January. I hope he is correct. But, before I get too carried away, does anyone know if that size tire will fit in the spare tire area (below the bed)?

My truck is an '03 long bed.

Yes they will fit. I had them in the "D" range. You do not want the D tires. The side walls were too squishy. I only got about 35K out of these tires, while I got about 60K out of the stock BFG tires.

Yes it will fit

I have a BFG 315 on 17x8 stock wheel that fits under bed in spare location ok. Just have to make sure when winching up that you don't pinch the wiring harnes that runs on the drivers side along the inside frame. The picture is a little misleading, the tire is not as close to the exhaust pipe as it looks.
