The shop manual for the 2001 lists Mopar ATF +4 type 9602, Automatic Transmission Fluid for the NV241HD. I want to drain and change with a Redline snythetic, but looked at the Redline page and they list:

Synthetic ATF

Synthetic D4 ATF

Racing ATF

C+ATF

High-Temp ATF

The only one that even mentions a Chrysler spec is C+ATF, which meets Chrysler MS7176??

Anybody know which Redline to use? I'm wondering if I use the wrong one, if the transfer case won't shift properly on the fly, etc.

Anyone know or has used a Redline oil in the transfer case with good luck??

BT

I use the High-Temp in mine, works great! You could probably use any of the "Mercon" rated fluids with no problem.

2001 2500 4X4 Laramie SLT Quad LB 5-Spd. DD TTPM, DD Stage-1 Injectors, Bully-Dog 4" exhaust, AFE, JAKE Brake, Geno's Banjo's, 2nd lift pump, 3 Autometer's on the A-Pillar, Redline oil throughout, RASP/6-Speed soon!!!

The correct Redline for the T-case is D4 ATF. You can use the high-temp if you want something a little thicker, but it might not shift as well.
