Lubricant for load leveling bars on bumper pull.

Bearing grease does not seem to work well. What lubricants are folks using to lube their load leveling bars.

I've been using that Slick 50-brand substitute for Moly Grease. You can get it at Wal Mart for about $5/can.

Also, FWIW, my hitch is an Equalizer Hitch (www.equalizerhitch.com), not that Reese contraption.

Blue Goat, I've been using the Reese Trailer Hitch Lube (4 0z. bottle). Don't know what weight it is... its pretty heavy and a couple of drops does the trick. It was given to by the trailer dealership.

I also use the reese stuff on my gooseneck. It is white colored and doesen't seem to stain clothes or as hard to get off your hands after applying. Got it a walmart. cheap, a little goes a long way.

I have used a good quality lithium based grease for 15 years without any problems. My trailer with 2 horses and full gear weighs about 6,000 pounds. YOu can buy this at any farm supply store, probably even Wally World.

The only problem I have had is getting the hitch ball low enough so the trailer sets level!
