I was reading the latest issue of TDR and the article on the frame, cracking beds, torsion stresses, and cross members gave me pause. The author checked underneath his G2 and much to his amazement he saw two, count them 2, cross members.

Naturally, I had to drop the mag, set my cup of primo home-ground mud down, bolt from the easy-boy next to the stove, startle the pups who naturally thought it was time for a ski (much to their disappointment), head out to the garage, and crawl under the G3 for a count. My tally was three bonified cross members and four auxillary crossmembers (two channels for the spare tire mounts, the tubular towing receiver, and the transfer/transmission bracket abeit).

My question is, are the G2s only one cross member shy and have the same 'auxillary' cross members I counted? Or am I lucky my G2s didn't collapse in my driveway? :-laf
