2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Lug nut Torque Alcoa Aluminum Rims

What is the lug nut torque spec for aluminum rims. I use 135 ft/lb for my steel rims.

My torque wrench goes up to 150. I've just maxed it out and have had no problems in 220,000 miles.

Torque specs for the 17. 5" aluminum wheels I bought for the 5th wheel this year are:



100 ft-lb for 1/2" wheel studs



120 ft-lb for 9/16" wheel studs

Thanks. Was not sure if aluminum rims require a different t-spec than steel. You need a larger t-wrench, mine goes to 250.

I use 120 ft lbs w/ ARP assembly Lube on the studs. Re check wheels after a few hundred miles. My wheels always loosen about 20-30 ft lbs.

Torqued the studs to 140 ft/lb. Went for a 2 hour drive. All had loosened up a little, so torqued 'em again. It is a long weekend here (Canada) and one of my younger brothers and I are off to Lees Summit, MO.
