Need Driveshaft yoke

I am trying to find a source for 5/8 " lug nuts for my 93 D-350. I am looking for the type which we would use for "centering" our wheels before tightening the standard lug nuts. A source in Virginia or North Carolina would be great or a part number that I can order online.

I got some 5/8-18 lug nuts at my local parts store. Run them down on a pair of coins that go "in" and then install the other 6 regular dually lugs. AFter that, remove your guide lug nuts, and install the remaining 2 nuts.

By using the lugs to center your wheels, you would be carrying the entire load of your truck and what ever you are hauling on them, you risk the wheels coming loose and over loading the studs and causing catastrophic failure. On our trucks, the center hub is designed to carry the load not the studs. The studs just keep the wheels tight to the hubs from spinning on the hubs. If you haul heavy, I would recommend you using the properly fitting wheels, not some generic will fits.

what do you do on the back to center them? on a dually?

Randy

Same method- Get the wheels lined up, and put the cone nut in a "in" facing coin and tighten it down. You dont have to go the full 325ft-lbs, or whatever, but get it good and snug.

Hoefler- learn something new every day, huh? ;)
