93 d250 converted to 350 dually axle and front hubs. Im putting alcoas on it sometime next week that are coming off my dads OBS ford welding truck. Im sure I'll have to get new lug nuts so I want to get spike nuts. What size is the stud? I saw somewhere 94-present is 9/16"x18 or something like that. Is the first gen studs the same size? or 1/2"? thanks

ok few things you need to know, first 1st gen dullys have 5/8"x 18 wheel studs, second 1st gen drw trucks have stud centered wheels like the bud wheels on older big trucks, not hub centered like the wheels on most other light trucks. I'm not saying your ford wheels wont work but you need to make sure you get them centered right or it will drive like crap and cut the tires quick

RWherley is right on target ! The only thing I need to add is that...The ONLY Ford wheels that will work are 1983 and older ! 84 UP WILL NOT WORK UNLESS HOPING DOWN THE ROAD LIKE A JACK RABBIT IS WHAT YOU HAVE IN MIND. Use the stock coined steel wheels on 93 and older dodge hubs ! See my posts on wheels and hubs from years back . Also see the TSB on "centering dual wheels" . I wrote it some 35 years ago before I retired.

Also, there are two cone angles possible for the lug nuts-60 and 90 degrees IIRC, and hence some wheels will have the wrong angle in their hubs. I discovered this when replacing some crappy after-market wheels with used factory wheels and all of the truck's lug nuts were messed up-as were the wheels.

Between that, the 25 year old shocks I replaced and the sorry and worn funny MasterCrapper Cruiser mud grips it is no wonder the poor old truck was riding and handling so abominably!
