I am in need of some chrome lugnuts, but I can't seem to find the long ones like I want in the 1/2 inch size. I have the 1 1/2 long ones and they are to stubby looking. It seems weird to me that they would put such small wheel studs on these trucks. Are they the same on your trucks?I was wanting to go with like a 3in. but I cant seem to find them. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Any local tire shop should be able to order you the longer lugnuts. Parts houses should be able to do the same thing (NAPA, Autozone, Checkers, O'Reillys etc). If you want them to last, get stainless steel lugs. They're more expensive, but won't rust like the chrome ones do.

I talked to the guy at discount tire co. and they dont have them but he said the 3in. ones will twist when you torque them down. So,I dont know what to get. What are you guys running on your alloy wheels?

I can't help you with your dilemna, but it's right at zero degrees here right now.....

That's cold enough to freeze the nuts off a CTD :-laf :-laf

I had some stainless one, they were just stainless covers. The covers cracked and split, before they were a year old. I just get chrome ones. You need to find some for the mid 80's fords. Some of those trucks came with extra long studs in them for duallys but they put singles on them. I belive fords for a long time used 1/2 studs too.

Do you have any shops that sell aftermarket rims/tires? Most any tire shop can get them. I just use standard chrome lugnuts with my aluminium wheels.
