2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission lukes link hitting diff cover

i installed a lukes link on my truck last weekend. It helped with the steering issue but now it hits the diff cover. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yep, been there done that. I found if I jacked the truck up under the frame the axle drops enough to trim the Luke's link with a 7" grinder, I sprayed a little paint on both parts after I ground the Luke's link to check for rubbing, I ended up trimming three times.

It's a common problem. Grind a little off of the back. . I beleive that the instructions even mention this.

Is grinding going to weaken the part?

Mine still had plenty of meat left, no problem at all.

I called LUKES and he said to grind off the offending metal on the link.

From the horses mouth so to speak.

I did and had no problems.
