Hi all,

I have a '93 D250, STD Cab. I have the chance to buy a used lumber rack that will fit the ole Dodge, the problem is the lumber rack is for extended cab. I know the rack will fit on the dodge and the most fwd part of the rack will extend past the front windshield about 2 feet. What you guys/gals think about getting the lumber rack. I know I can cut it and have it re-welded it. I was wondering how many people use the extended cab lumber racks on std cabs? All comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Brad

Just add a couple of legs at the front of your bed if it's for a short bed, then cut the front section back to cab length and you'll be fine.

You could also do something like a hood mount for a CB antennae and make a support bar to complete the look. Structurally, the rack should be fine. It doesn't touch the cab normally, so hanging over the front will just make it look a little funny.
