Lunar Auto meter

My dash mount with the lunar gauges makes a glow on the dash infront of the gauges then reflects on the windsheild, it bothers me a little. If I use the dimmer they start flashing, I dubble checked and im on the right wire.

so i thought i would put a resister in the wire to dim them a little but not to much. What have you guys done and does any one know what size resister i should try first?

there is a in line dimmer that you can use for the brightness of the guage, the auto meters really put out some light at night, my colbalts are terrible!

mummn my first gen '89 has lunars in it dash mount and the dimmer worked fine. . i think i taped the dash lighting for the dimmer. . i will be pulling them out for my new ride a '96 i wonder if the '96 has different dimmer setup?. .
