Working on a 92 m11 in an international and I cannot find a data link connector in the cab or under the hood. There is a small diagnostic connector in the cab by the diagnostic switches but nothing I have seen before. Anyone know how to get codes out by blinking check engine light? I tried turning key on with diagnostic switch on and got check engine light to blink one time every 5 seconds or so. Has anyone run across this before?
thanks.

Damn!! Let me see if anyone here knows. Depends if IH mutated that for their needs.

Can you zoom out a bit so I can see the rest of the panel??

Sorry, I just wanted to see the diagnostic panel to determine if it is Cummins or not. I'll see what I can do with the ESN. I've been stalking the Cummins Tech but haven't made contact yet....

Mentions a "Shorting Plug" but no further joy. Manual is in print only, not on Quickserve....too old. I'll go check the manuals library at lunch and see if I can find out how to make it show codes.

Matt, I have a friend that is an IH dealer and Cummins is his engine of choice and has been for decades. I will reach out but before I call what do you have for test equipment?? Do you have Insite?? If not then will ask if there is a way to work around it...

My buddy George says the easiest way out of this is to get a 9 pin diagnostic plug and change it out. Only about four live wires on it anyways. He has done this many times before to get away from the 8 pin mutant plug.

I found the wiring diagram within Quickserve.

Call me if I can help further.

Thank you mike I got busy with another project but will check into converting it. Have to make sure I don’t get the new guy when I call for parts. Thanks

I don't know who you use but any truck dealer should be able to get that for you. Or go junkyard shopping..

Let me know if you need part numbers.....
