Trivia - what is the only company to make their

Well, at least I know my yard has good drainage

My Fiance just moved to New York City for a short while and I want to get her a good Mace/Pepper Spray thug defender to keep in her pocket or purse.

Any suggestions as to what's the best stuff for me to get her???

And before you ask, a Gun is out of the question. :D

Thanks in advance.

Andy

There is some with CS gas, supposed to be some good stuff. State to state you might have to shop around a bit to find the premium stuff.

I saw some the other day that had a UV die in it. Didn't read the package but I'm guessing this was for making it easier to ID the Jack*** that got hosed.

My buddy bought some for spraying bears with when hiking. The can is about the size of a small fire extinguisher :D . Why not get the bigun that way she can beat him over the head with it when it's empty.

Look in some sporting/outdoors stores.

I've got a Mark IV size of Mace Brand Off Duty Pepper 10. It is the stream spray not the misting version. This is what I got sprayed with in the Police Academy and the stuff works on me although it may not work on everybody.

Andy,

Believe it or not, my wife was born in NYC. Her parents, as you know, are still there.

Anyhow, I'm licensed here to get some of the heavy stuff that you may not be able to get off the shelf. I'll check to see whats available and let you know.

Hey Justin,

That would be great. Please let me know what you come up with. She went up today and I want to send her something up as soon as possible.

Thanks

Andy

There is a kind call'd Body Guard L- E 10 . That is the Police issue . It will last about thirty minutes after you spray it on somebody . There is the Body Gauard civilian type that will last about 15 minutes after you spray it but I don't know what the number is . Some of the Police around here are using the civilian type so they can deal with the person they spray sooner , but me if I spray someone I don't wont to deal with them any time soon . Make sure you know how to use it . I like the fog but you can get it in stream . Make sure the wind is to your back(blowing on your back)when if you spray someone BECAUSE you don't want to get any on you and make sure you wash your hands right after you spray it CAUSE if you get any on yourself (rubbing eyes, going to the bath room ) it will BURN LIKE WILD FIRE !!!!!!!!!

Take heed in what Wayno said about handling. I bought my wife a small keychain-attached container of Freeze +P. The wife of the gun shop owner told me that they draw straws to see who stocks the shelves when the need arrises. If you handle the containers much, you should wash your hands before doing anything else. Don't spray anything in a closed area or you will also suffer. Stay away from the old military mace crap. You want a modern, pepper derived irritant. I have seen sprays used for wildlife that have higher pepper content than normal personal defense. If you don't want to hang around to prosecute someone that you sprayed, you could propably do serious harm with the stronger concentrations. I would imagine the stronger sprays can cause constriction (swelling) of the airways and breathing problems (not that that is a problem for your wife). Just something to consider. Ask around your local law enforcement to see what they might endorse or not endorse. Good luck on your search.

look for pepper spray with 2,000,000+ Scoville Heat Units - thats what indicates the burn- the higher the number the more potent it is. It doesn't matter if it is 5% or 10% as long as it is 2 Mill SHU.
