Anybody running this combo with possibly a turbo upgrade? Thinking about get this setup with everything else to back it up, (clutch, pusher pump, ect. ) what kind of HP and TQ numbers are you putting down? Right now it's just a daily driver that rarely tows, But still want to be able to tow without worries. And of course, smoke out an occasional PowerJoke! #ad

The comp & mach 2's will be very nice but I'd suggest looking into a CaTCHER with bigger sticks like my 3. 8's or mach 4's. I think the top end power would be similar but the low end would be much snappier.

Yeah, we put Mach 4's in my buddies truck, and I think I'll put them in my next truck, currently in the process of finding it. Anyways, in his truck we ran it without the Catcher. But it had a Edge Drag Comp, a VP-44HR, the Mach 4's and a USB turbo by Pius. It was an auto. But it ran really well. It originally had an HX40 hot rod, from rip at sourceautomotive. biz. And that spooled up quick but those injectors were a little big for that. He was putting down about 500hp I think maybe 550. It sucked, his truck actually broke the Dyno. Or it happened to stop working while his truck was on it. I might try a set of mach 2's with an HX40, or maybe a dodgezilla from rip. Don't know from sure. good luck.

I've got Mach 2's with the stock turbo. I have a 6 speed and put a Southbend clutch in it after the sticks, runs very well now. I live at 5k feet so bigger sticks without a turbo just weren't an option. My EGT's can peg the meter when towing, so more sticks are just out of the question. I think it tows very well except for the EGT issues with heavy loads it's great. I have to watch my foot on steep passes with a load, as long as I stay within the speed limit though normally I'm OK.

I just fineshed setting mine up with M4,s ,DZ,EZ and drilled out banjos.

I really like this setup, no smoke unless you want it. I havn,t had a

chance to tow or check out EGT,s yet but sofar it,s great.

EZ on the first jumper seemed to be quicker at low end. If anyone

has any kind of a box i would go with the EDM 3. 8,s or 4,s.

Just my 2 cents---------Enjoy----Frank

I put together the following combination on a 01 4X4 and got 497/1033

Edm Mach 2. 5's

TST Powermax3 w/remote

Mad ECM

ATS automatic

Scotty II

Scotty Smart Fuel System

PDR HX35/14 gated

This combination was quick off the line around town. He could pull his enclosed trailer on level 3 and this turbo would supply plenty of air. Anything above level 6 you would be reaching for the Oh **** handles. This truck still got 20-21 mpg on the highway.

Would this work for someone that tows heavy... maybe. . but it would work better with a bigger turbo or even better. . a set of twins. .

Mach 2s with a comp works great with a Hx-35 any bigger injector with a comp you need to step up the turbo. Mach 4s work great if you have a smaller fueling box EZ, Catcher with Hx-35 or the Dodgezilla, HTT htb2 62/12cm turbo.

Thanks for the inputs guys. I think I want to be running at around 400 HP for the time being. If i go for the Mach 2s and Comp, I will more than likely spring for an upgraded turbo just to be on the safe side, (and leave room for bigger injectors later) #ad

In my case, M2's, a Comp, and a DZ was worth 463hp/930tq on a Dynojet. The stock turbo had much better bottom end but didn't pull as well on top as the DZ. If I'm going to pull the camper, I'll swap the stock turbo back on. But otherwise I'll leave the DZ in place (a bit better mileage). The DZ cools better on top, but runs hotter mid-rpm. At this hp level you need to start thinking about trade-offs if you're gonna run a single (bottom end for top end). Or twins...

MK, I've got the exact set up Mach 2's and HX35/12 and it runs good, but it does smoke at WOT and when I let off and get back on when I shift.

I posted a question in the accessories section about a Banks Quick Spool 14cm, but I got a lot of "waste of time and money" responses to my plight of getting rid of the smoke.

The power is good with the stock turbo, I would think if you went with a bigger turbo you would need bigger injectors to drive it. My Mach2's generate about 31psi and 1200* on a grade that is 5 miles long and I'm loaded down with construction tools and boxes in 6th gear at 90mph.

If I hold it foot to the floor the whole way I can hit 1350 right before the top. So egt's are not quite as high as I would expect but maybe my M2's are weak, dunno..... Jim

Sorry MK I just noticed you had an 02 2500, so that means you will need at least the stock turbo off an older truck like a 99 dually (HX35/12). I believe you have a 9cm housing which really heats up fast..... Jim

The reason to go to the 14 cm housing is to control high EGT's. If you are staying cool enough with the 12, yes the 14 is a waste, but not if you find you are getting toasty under heavy load. My port matched 14 spooled every bit as fast as my 12 did.

I figure I have about 400 HP with my 1. 6's and the Comp - I *can* make serious smoke pulling hard at low RPM from a dead stop until the turbo quickly spools, but in actual use it's easily controlled. My EGTS's towing steepest grades, running the Comp off (don't NEED any more power in normal towing!) are normally around 1000* - applying the Comp WILL bring it to about 1200* - boost tops out a bit over 34 PSI, but at that point, I'm WAAAAAAY over the speed limit, even in the grades...

My other related mods, not many, are in my sig...

Gary what's you're altitude there? Cause I can absolutely peg my EGT meter doing 55-60 up grades with a load on. Unloaded I really have ahard time seeing anything over 1100 without seriously speeding, even then it's momentary. But when pulling, I have to feather the throttle, I have plenty of pedal and power left (so it feels) but meltdown could be the result.

In all honesty I need a turbo bad, but I drive empty more then I tow so for now I'm just living with it.

Thanks for the awsome input. I was actually wondering about the 1. 6s... Gary, what kind of mileage are you seeing with that combo? That is right along the lines of what i would like to run without worrying about temps, whether towing or unloaded. Right now stock I'm getting about 20. 5 in town. #ad

Im getting a used comp in the mail very very soon, got Ez, m2's, and a sbc ofe, stock turbo for now, will i see anything dramatic? i want it for mileage but also for play when a person tailgates me:) will i be able to smoke like i see in the video's?
