Hey guys - I'm trying to diagnose a shudder or surge that I'm getting. It gets very noticable above 30 pounds of boost. I'm fairly certain that it's the timing issue with the EZ but I want to make sure.

So what's going to happen when I don't have a boost fooler plugged in? I know that I'll throw an overboost code but will the truck defuel based on this? It won't do me much good if I can't get to 30psi because that's where the shudder is most noticable.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Just unplug the EZ's CANBus link but leave the MAP sensor plugs alone. This will keep the boost fooler function but will disable the fueling/timing capabilities of the EZ. I did this after my stock clutch started slipping right after installing the DD2's - it got me through a trip pulling our 5th wheel without slipping the clutch until I could get the Con OFE installed.

Dang, how's that for quick response!

Rusty - I guess if I ever used more than 1% of my brain I would have been able to figure that out, right? Thanks for the tip!
