Competition Dekalb super pull

A while back I made a post about my schools project truck, a single axle Mack B-61 tractor, which is being converted into a drag truck.

We got the fire ringed heads on, trans is bolted up and motor mounts are in now. The truck runs! Right now we are waiting on a TCM, trans harness, driveshaft and a complete brake system. Any questions, feel free to post... Here's a pic of the truck (and my toolbox... ) from Sunday

Yes it is :) Forgot to mention it also has a single turbo on it as it sits (a stock Mack E-Tec turbo) We are doing a twin setup that will consist of a factory Mack VGT turbo from an EGR E-Tec motor feeding a MONSTER one of two ever made Holset (don't know the specs, one of our instructors friends donated it... )

Hey, that truck reminds me of the one in the movie "Duel". You guys are'nt gonna run down some poor dude in a Valiant are you?:)

As of yesterday (11/20) The truck is actually capable of moving under it's own power! We got the trans re-installed yesterday, plumbed a remote frame rail mounted cooler, made up some wiring for the Vehicle Interface Module, installed the drive shaft and played! We ran the truck through all gears on jack stands, so, with the addition of a brake system and a bunch of cosmetic stuff, the truck will be driveable! 12 hours on a saturday at school, and a ton of work done.

The next few months should prove interesting.

ALSO, we are now going to run triple turbos! We are going to have TWO mack EGR VGT turbos feeding our one monster holset... still have some plumbing to do to get all of that functional.

Not sure exactly what it will run, teacher was hoping for 14. 0s at around 100mph on the twin setup, I don't recall what his latest ET estimates were, I shall find out this week :) Trans is an Allison HD4060 with a custom TCM, custom wiring harness and a VERY low stall speed converter. Motor is a Mack ETEC E7/460 - has a custom fuel pump, MASSIVE bosch injectors (they resemble shower heads), fire ringed heads, comp valve springs with custom stepped spacers for inner springs.

Why can't our diesel program do stuff like that!?!? Heck, our instructor won't even turn up a tractor in the shop because "it's not what it's designed to do". If I were to start over again, I would've found a different school. At least graduation if only a few months away.

Will, the trucks awesome, and Mark is an awesome guy as well, he taught a class were i work about two weeks ago. If they pushed that engine hard it would make some serious power. The same genius' that did your turbos and fuel system helped me make over 800hp out of my lil' 6cyl, but we'll let his name out of it cause thats the way he likes it...

So what kind of boost numbers is it going to put out??

What about putting it on a Semi dyno to see what kind of power its putting out...

Sounds like you guys are having a blast!!!
