Yes, another MAD thread... ... ...

For those of you running the MAD ECM, and measure fuel mileage, please comment on your experience - either increase or decrease. I've tracked every tank since I bought the truck and since I drive over 50 miles a day fuel mileage is important to me (especially with the per gallon cost we are paying). I've got an EZ right now but am contemplating getting with Bob W and going MAD but want real world fuel mileage comps if anyone has the facts.

TIA

Heres the way it is,when ever you first get one,you will be getting less mileage,because your right foot will be wanting to see what it will do,i'll grant you it will do it (power you will love it),but your talking controlling the right foot,if you take it easy on the right foot it will get as good or better mileage as your current set up,the key is in the go peddle...

"You mileage may vary" :) I got a little over 2 mpg increase once I learned to "stop going" zoom on take-off. Keep the EZ to stack with later, I wish I had, that would be a cool combo. The initial fueling of the catcher is what is sooooo nice. I'm at 18. ? mpg doing a high traffic commute of 52 miles per day. Mike

I tried running the TTPM, similar to the EZ w/Catcher, all it did was smoke like it was on fire and burn lots of fuel. Took it off and sold it. The Catcher by itself is great, as long as you keep your foot out of it(which is hard to do) the mileage is comparable to stock.

there is NO need to stack and ez or dd equal to box with the catcher. Marco has programmed these ecms to get all the fueling out of the vp 44 without tapping the pump wire.

There is no need for any other box unless you choose to run a major fueling box.

I will let the mileage reports come in and not report any that I have heard.

My foot is still to heavy since last june. to much fun :)

I thought Marco programmed in max timing? That wouldnt work to good with an edge comp would it? What overides what or would it create way to much timing? If he wrote in max fueling then how is a fueling box going to help? I just want to know how they all work together and what the best combo's are. I see the "special" ecm if your running a timing box... . I'm confused :{

Before MAD, strictly 70-72 mph... no better than 19mpg Yucaipa to Vegas. Last Sunday made the trip, no traffic, no stops. Set the cruise on 72 Loma Linda to Henderson 22. 6 mpg. For the trip home about 100 mi of in town driving plus the trip home running 75-80mph 17. 5 mpg. Does the truck run better, OH YEAH!!!

standard program for stand alone use with injectors, turbo, etc.

special program (less timing in ECM) for use with fueling box. more top end power with comp, tst, ddufm, etc. i also like the ability to turn off the box for calmer driving... sometimes!

i, too, will not comment on mileage. hard to stay out of the fuel when it's so plentiful.

"no change" i assume refers to his mileage before and after.

When I got my EZ I was able to pull in a 1-2 mpg improvement after the fun factor got familiar. When I swapped out to the CaTCHER I was able to keep that 1-2 mpg.

I've had 5 tanks since the Catcher. 17. 7 MPG each time. I used to get 17. 5 to 18. 5. So no real change and I have not yet let the new wear off. I get all over it on an on ramp. :D :D :D
