I'm thinking of purchasing the mag-hytec cover. I have the camper package and the sway bar and I was wondering how this complicates installation.

No problemo on mine. I don't remember which angle it ended up going in, but I didn't have to remove the sway bar.

If I remember correctly it only effects you if you have a two wheel drive - I believe with the Dana 80. I'm not sure on this, but I just put one on my 4x4, 2500, 6spd with Dana 80 and camper package. No problem. May want to confirm this.

Craig is right. Just installed one on Memorial Day. The spacer is needed on the 2 wheel drive with sway bar, but not on 4x4 with sway bar.

I have installed one on my 2000 3500 2 wheel drive and didn't need the spacer. I also installed one on a friend's 2001 3500 2 wheel drive and didn't need the spacer. Both trucks were equipped with the Camper Package with the rear sway bar.

On the model year 2000 and up 3500 2 wheel drive trucks with the factory 235 tires, you will need to make sure the spare is as far to the rear as it will go for clearance.

Hey Jeff, Your truck still running OK after MM?

Thanks for clearing that up for us, Bill. The salesman working the Mag-Hytec booth at MM gave the info I spoke of.

Yes, the truck is running fine now. Carson Dodge replaced the APPS (the new fancy name for the TPS) first thing Friday morning. I was on the road by 10:30am and drove straight thru to Dallas. Got in around 5:00pm on Sat.

Jeff,

Glad to know your problem was the APPS. I will keep that in mind if my truck ever has the symptoms you described your truck had. You sure didn't waste any time going to and from MM!!

I had a 4 hour delay 10 miles west of Amarillo on I-40 and had to be wreckered in to Cummins Southern Plains in Amarillo. I'll tell you about it at the Dallas Chapter meeting next Saturday. As a result of that, I'll be carrying a 18mm crowfoot with me from now on. Also spent yesterday afternoon washing diesel fuel off the 5th wheel and truck.
