Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) RV275 Install Help

Planning to change the DC transmission pan to a Mag-Hytec DD 727.

The filter will be extended on a filter block extension. What tool will I need to take the existing filter off? The SM implies a screw but shows a socket wrench maybe with a screw driver bit?. Screwdriver? Phillips? Straight blade? socket? size?

When I put the extended block on to relocate the filter down in to the DD pan I will have to have a tool that will fit the torque wrench that will do the screws or bolts that hold the existing filter on.

I do not have a 6" phillips or 6" straight blade extension with a 3/8" rachet head for the torque wrench. I will get whatever I need, but this is the first time I have been inside the transmission and don't want to get the pan off then find out I need a xxxx to do the extension on the filter block. I prefer to not drop the pan, look, bolt the pan back, head to get the tool, get back, drop the pan again, do the filter block, bolt the pan again when someone out there might have the answer in advance.

The DC service manual has the following torque values for:

Filter screws 35"#

Pan bolts 125"#

I have read else where that some use

Pan bolts 100"#

Since the screws(bolts) will be lubed with transmission fluid at this point is the torque value for the filter screws(bolts) still valid at 35"#

Comments?

Thanks in advance,

The screws on the filter are "Torx" head. Forgot the # but if you have a set of torx screw driver you'll have the size needed, nothing special. Never used a torque wrench for the filter screws, good n tight seems to work OK:D All the hardware needed should come with your pan.

IT IS A TORX 25 TO REMOVE THE FILTER SCREWS AND YES DON'T USE THE TORQUE WRENCH, JUST USE COMMON SENSE AND FEEL WHAT IT TAKES TO REMOVE IT AND DO THE SAME PUTTING IT ON.
