how can i quiet the mighty PE4200??

Gentlemen and Ladies,

I'm considering getting the Mag-Hytec front dif cover for my '01. 5. Geno's warns that the the installation is a bit more difficult than the rear because you have to remove some stirring components.

The Mag-Hytec web site does not have the installation instructions on-line.

How tough is this installation? I only have basic hand tools, do I need anything special tools to remove the components?

It really is not bad. All you have to do is take out one bolt and lower the part out of the way. Bolt up the cover, refill it and then replace the part and one bolt. It will add maybe fifteen minutes to the entire job. I raised the drivers side and removed the front tire for easy access but after doing it you really don't even have to do that. Just turn the wheels all the way to the left and you will have plenty of access. No special tools required. And if I recall there was a fair set of instructions that came with the cover

When you order the front cover be sure to let them know that you do not have the vented housing (if you do not have the axle disconect) to ensure you get the vented dipstick

heres a pic of it installed. it is really easy, just pop the drivers side rod off so you can get the cover in place then reintall the drivers side end of the rod.

Remember to use JB weld on the stamped letters on the case facings and use a little lube on the O-Ring.

The bar and plate below the cover is a truss and skidplate.

There are letters stamped into the sealing surface on the diff housing. They must be filled in for the o-ring to be able to seal properly.
