mag-hytec warranty implacations

want to put mag-hytec cover on my new 03 dually. but when i bought it i ask if the rear diff was full and salesman swore they knew about low diffs and it was guaranteed full. well as i was driving home from dealer 1300 miles i pulled over and checked and low and behold it was 1. 5qts low and some fuzz on plug . i filled it up and drove on in got 3k now and no problem but im worried want to put on cover and fill up but what would be warranty situation with the cover and do you fill it up to the mark on the dip stick . the service manual says 9. 5pints and the mag-hytec adds 1. 5qts so 4plus quarts. you guys think if i have a problem will the dealer bust my chops for it or full speed ahead. also does the limited slip mecanism make some metal at first im not familiar with this type? thanks

I think it would give them wiggle room if you installed it yourself. They can always say you caused it by not filling it up when you put the new cover on, etc. Have the dealer document it before you install the cover or (ugh) have them install it.
