I was curious about how many magazine copies are printed out every quarter, and if they're some in general circulation besides what is mailed out to the membership. I am curious, too, as to how big our club is nowadays.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Years ago(2002-2003) when I was the local president of the Rocky Mountain TDR club we tried to have a monthly meeting at a local diesel performance shop, rocky mountain cummins etc places like that and the vendor would put on a show and tell or tech talk etc. We usually just posted on the local rmtdr website and on the main TDR website to get the word out. We decided to talk to ATS Transmissions and they were all for it and wanted to go big. Robin at the TDR office helped out by sending out postcards to all the magazine subscribers in the state and perhaps Wyoming as well. I got a ton of phone calls and emails from subscribers asking for more info about the event. ATS also did some advertising etc about it (ATS did do a very commendable job on their end pulling of the event). We would normally have 20-30 people show for the regular ones but this one with the postcards went well beyond that. Turned out at the time perhaps changed by now as it has been years that most of the people who were in the TDR did not use the website just got the magazine. We had well over 200 trucks show up with 300-400 people for that meet. We did it again the following year same thing after that ATS pretty much just ran with it and changed it to Diesels on the Mountain or something like that at the local drag strip and took us out of the loop which was fine. I haven't heard much about that event in recent years not sure if they are still doing it or not. I just know I was totally surprised how many people (particularly the older folks) who either didn't know the TDR had a website or yeah I never use it. These days the local RMTDR club is pretty much defunct don't think they have had a meet in over 10 years.
I guess all this to say that at least at that time the TDR was much much bigger than just the folks on the website or that the website would lead you to believe.

The TDR is pretty much an unknown out here. I think Geno's said there's one other customer in my zip code, and that's about 50,000 people. The CTD truck concept is popular in commercial and private, and I wear my TDR sticker on my rear cap window. I try to do my part. That fabled conversation at the fuel island has only happened once or twice since 1997.

I won't get my TDR magazine for a month, but if you look in it there used to be a notice showing the ownership, mailing addresses, circulation, etc.

When my magazine came i remembered this thread and could not find it either. They definitely used to have the info in there. I had a couple other of the mags by my desk and checked them. The info isn't in the magazine for at least the current one and the previous two. At this point I would just email Robin/TDR
