Been running EZ w/o turnbuckle for 4 weeks. Just installed turnbuckle and 2 things happened that suprised me.

(Background Info-No trouble pulling 22 psi w/o turnbuckle so Wastegate appears to have been function nornally. Now get 32-35 psi)

First suprise=EGT's, at shutdown, cools down faster and bottoms out 25 degrees lower since installing turnbuckle??

Second suprise=Mileage up about 1 mpg from before turnbuckle.

Make any sense? All I can think of is Wastegate opens partially before reaching 20-22 psi Boost. Maybe starts to open well before?

Any Ideas or similar observations?

Wastegate question?

Since nobody is responding, let me rephase the question.

Is no wastegate more efficient than turbo with a wastegate?(assuming, of course, you do not overboost).

I have been running the EZ with turnbuckle for 2 years. Can't say I have seen similar cool down side effects that you describe.

I think the extra MPG makes sense. The EZ adds more fuel. The extra boost adds more air. So with both you are back to a more ideal fuel/air ratio.

Can't see why anyone would run their EZ without the extra boost.
