I have a 2007 5. 9. The owner's manual has the following maintenance schedule.

Oil, filter, etc Schedule A: 15,000 miles. Schedule B: 7500 miles.

The 'Warranty Information book, also from Dodge has the following.

Oil, filter, etc. Schedule A: 7500 miles. Schedule B: 3750 miles.

Question- Which is correct, and why do they disagree, as both are published by Dodge and both are supplied in the new owners, packet.

Thanks

Nope, they are both for diesel. In fact, the covers are identical.

"Dodge 2007 Ram Truck Diesel" is printed on both.

The only difference is that one says "Owner's Manual" and is , of course , quite thick. The other says ""Warranty Information" and is thin, as it covers only the warranty.

Well beats me but there is no way i would dump 3 gallons of oil any less than 7500 miles. I run mine anywhere from 10000 to 15000 depending on when i get the urge to change it. I usually try to time it so i can go all winter without having to mess with it in the cold.

My guess is the short cycle is for the 6. 7, the long one for the 5. 9. 2007 is the transition year and the emmissions system on the 6. 7 makes for exceedingly dirty oil:mad:

Or the owners manual group and warranty group do not talk to each other. It happens all the time. Everyone is working with their blinders on... everyone is focused on what is in front of them and not what is just off to the sides.
