I was towing a jeep tonight and stopped at a gas station to get a drink when I came out noticed coolant leaking bad (a large puddle on ground) so I shut off the truck and looked for the leak.

Due to driving and coolant blowing all over I have not been able to pin point the leak. I was not running the truck hard at all as my EGT's never got above 900. The leak is for sure coming from the passenger side/exhaust side and appears to be towards the front of the engine. It was dripping pretty good.

Anybody got any ideas? Worse case scenario, could it be the head gasket? I thought if it was the head it would get oil in the anti freeze. Maybe a water pump? I have no clue. Any and all help is greatly appreciated because at this point I may have to take it to Scheids to have them fix it which will cost a lot, but I need my truck for work.

Thanks in advance.

possibility

Don't know about the earlier ones, but that is the approximate location of the block heater on the 3G's... . and mine has leaked some...

leak

In the daylight I can easily see that it is coming from somewhere beneath the exhaust manifold near the front of the engine. No coolant in oil. Any ideas?

Leak

Look directly between the oil filter and the block, there is an oil cooler bolted into the side of the block. Might need a mirror for close inspection. bg

miles

My truck has about 127000 miles on it. Its at Scheids Diesel getting fireringed, studded and some other stuff. It was leaking out around cylinder #2 real bad and just a little back by 5 and 6.
