I could just Scream!!

How about some funny military experiences?

The little high milage car crapped out again for the 3 time in as many months and got fed up and started looking for another 3500 CTD. Found a beauty down at a used car lot. Red 98 12v, loaded, only problem was an automatic but I could live with that. Was priced to high but would haggle down. I checked CarFax and found that it had been given a salvage title in Chantilla VA. Then it was given a clean title in another county in Va 3 months later (Rustmond, Rustland or some such) and was transported here to Alaska and trying to be sold.

That CarFax is great, saved me a butt load of potential problems! It's worth the 14. 99 to check it out

Good advice, same as getting a rep shop to go over it like an inspection. We were looking for a small car, came across one that drove well and looked great (must of been detailed) only thing I could pick out on the test drive was that it needed one new front strut. So we take it into a same dealership and give them a $100 to do a once over. I came back a few hours later and the first thing the service guy said to me was "RUN". He had a shopping list of this that the average joe couldn't see and would need fixing to make it a safe reliable vehicle. Same thing as car fax, best money spent, just a lttle more.

Sounds much along the same lines as the cars involved in serious flooding in the southern states - then cleaned up, hauled outta state and resold as merely "previously owned"... :(
