Making Diesel from Algae!

Ive heard that it is working and that the navy is using it. It is also very expensive. I believe I remember Bignasty saying he hauled some for the navy a few years ago (?)

It must be working the Navy get two loads a week in San Diego from WA. a friend of mine's son hauls one of the loads a week. It is quite expensive but the price will come down with the Feedstock multiplying as fast as it does and the more it becomes necessary to find alternative fuel sources.

Still, all I see and hear has not led me to one guy who would help me try to make this happen.

I called the Government, and finally got hold of Walt Kuzumbo who writes the checks to buy the stuff for the NAVY and Air Force.
He said the "stuff" is Intellectual properties and the Mfg would not tell me how to make the stuff.

I argued that our Tax dollars are paying... . etc, and he said we are buying a product, not the formula for the product.
Stuck in a Rut now. Need help to get out.

I believe we could all make this stuff at home. Several of us could get together, like Farmers, for a larger mass.

Both the NAVY and Air Force mix it percentage wise, so they are not wholly dependent on the stuff.
Yes, the Ships and Planes use a lot of fuel.
Expensive is a nebulous term. Right now, Dino is cheap, but when it get's scarce, the Algae may just be the Cheapest fuel available.
The Rest of America, and the World ought to be paying attention to this test and trial.

Well of course their not going to tell you how to make the stuff they want to make money on their product and they should!!!!!!!!! when we picked it up in WA it came off a barge so I cant tell you how or what it takes to make it, I was letting them load the truck, I was preforming HIGH TECH job eating pistachios some eat sunflower seeds NOT ME!!!!!! I DARE TO BE DIFFERENT. I sat talking to a man (didn't know who he was) and the Diesel is some pretty high tech stuff to get going but once the feedstock (algae) got going its cheaper. I make BIO at home from veg oil I asked the man if it was the same kind of thing? He asked if I had a degree in BIO CHEMISTRY? I said of course!!!! yes got mine off a box of Post Toasties last week, I just drive truck so I can see the leg shows from girls as they drive by as a hobby!!! He laughed and gave me a card it was to the company that makes the stuff and I intern gave it to my Pard he made the contact to haul the stuff for them. I REALLY DONT THINK THAT YOU CAN MAKE THE STUFF IN YOUR GARAGE AT HOME. BTJMO I have been wrong a time or two and it will happen MANY more times.

I cant say what is done with it once I fired up the truck pump and pumped it off the truck an into a waiting ship/boat I REALLY didn't care what they did with it, It wasn't my job to worry about it I didn't have enough rank to G. A. S any longer my job was DONE. I think that you might be getting two products confused this stuff was some pretty high tech crap. I also hauled some stuff to an Air Force Base in NW NV that again I don't know WHAT they did with it and at this PLACE I DIDNT REALLY WANT TO!!!!!!!!!! But it was an entirely different kind of thing

But I need a Chemist to help me with the setup and prep.
It was first made in a 1 acre pond. But the birds kept pooping in it. So they went inside with Tubes and pipes.
That requires some kind of Feed. And some Oxygen... .

Like the guy bumming cigarettes from you, he's got the habit and nothing else.
I have the Idea, the Barn, the attitude, but nothing else.

Its never going to be cheap. And dont worry about oil/diesel/gas becoming scarce in your lifetime. Most of that is just hype to keep the prices up. And if/when the algie is sold to the general public, it will be as expensive if not more so than petroleum based diesel. The oil companies will own it, and we know what they do with prices.

Tectonic movements can happen at any moment. Any one of those movements can eliminate the Keystone project Permanently. Instantly.
The Oil in the Gulf can disappear at any moment.
We better be getting it while we can.
But... we better be working on the alternatives too. Just in case!

Well there you have it JUST GET A DEGREE and fire up the kiddy pool with green stuff in it, and be a MILLIONAIRE!!!!!!!! I know that I have been inspired, im going back to school at 60years old and become a brain surgeon, doing it part time between being a mule packer, truck driver and BIO Chemist DAMN IM GOOD im doing just fine with my home made BIO D and its enough for me

But I'm a wee bit long in the tooth, and far too set in my ways for the regimen of school.

I don't get all fired up about the planet and things THAT ARE BEYOND my control, so if Tectonic plate movements do occur that most times opens up new vents, releases, or what ever they are called by someone other than a half wit mule packer with a more than casual interest in Geology knows the name of. Me im going to grab the family and sit and watch the show, with the sun spots that NASA (another casual interest) found I think that growing fuel is the least of our worries!!!!! So what does it take to make my truck run on French fry grease ? What kind of investment and end fuel cost should I expect ? I routinely drive 220 mile round trip to my hideout , Approx. 10,000 miles a year, would love to slash my fuel price, and I do know a restaurant owner with grease, although I'm sure I'd have to pay whatever he gets currently

List of companies that make it. It can be tailored to be diesel, gas, jet fuel etc. The say the area of NM with the systems installed under the sun, could produce enough to power the country.

Plenty of algae in Lake Erie - dangerous blooms in the western end the past several years. Can it be economically removed from the Lake? Endless supply.

I think there was a segment on 60 minutes on algae fuel. The algae diesel equivalent product was clear and didn't stink like the real thing.
It would be nice to engage this technology on a grand scale,reduce fracking and tell the Arabs to go stuff it.
