ok folks, when i get back stateside i would like to start on the largest mod to my 3500. i bought an 04. 5 a few months before i came over here to iraq and a have one question.

its an 04. 5 shot box crew cab 2wd. im going to do one of two thigngs. find dually fenders and graft them on making mods for tail lights, filler neck and side lights.

R flatbed the truck.

ethier way i will be going to 19. 5 inch wheels, dually hubs on all 4 corners. this will bring my rpm's down a bit and with a brake exhaust i can have the truck certified for a higher weight rating.

my question is this. where can i find the bedsides and the hubs for a reasonable price?

i work on fiberglass for a living and the bonding wont be a big deal. nor will the making of a flat bed. i pull a 30 foot dove tail gooseneck with 2 12k axles and it is running a bit light at the time. 8500 of blazer on it and 3k of camper.

any input is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Grant,

I have a set of the DRW front hubs I took off my DRW pickup. My truck is now a SRW. I converted the opposite of what you want. To help a little, check my readers rigs for the photo's of the conversion. The fenders are a plastic type rubber fender. Just get some fenders and drill the holes to mount. Very easy. The DRW rear end is a bit wider than the SRW. I might be talked into trading if your gears are 4. 10's. You will need a wider rear end to clear the tires and wheels. It is only an inch or two wider but you will need it. Give me a call when you get back and we can talk. I live in 29 Palms, CA and can meet up with you when you are back. Who are you with and when do you get back stateside? I have some friends there right now. Stay safe and take care... ...

srw drw

Greg,

Im with HMLA 169. Huey and cobras. SHOULD be back in anuary, but will go on 3 weeks leave, then go to yuma AZ for 6 weeks. (i was stationed in yuma for almost 3 years and loved it so its not a big deal to me)

im new to the dodges and know they recently changed rear ends. are mine and yours the same vice the width dieferance? if so, i have 4. 10 gears and would be willing to do a straight across trade of rims, tires, bedsides and axles.....

just a though. we got time to think about it and work out details if needed.
