My brother has a 04. 5 CTD 6 speed truck. He is thinking of making a twin turbo set using his stock hx35E & was wondering which turbo would be best for the second charger? Where can we get the hot pipe & plumbing to make this all work. We are both good welders/fabricators, but neither one of us have done twin setups before. Anyone have parts needed for the fabrication? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the link... . looks pretty cool. What turbo are they using in that setup? Just a guess, but I figure that a charger with a 74mm wheel should be a good match for the HX35E... . what you think?

to be honest i have no idea what turbo they are using but i know that RCC is using that setup and has dynoed over 800 HP his truck is actually on there running the quarter mile i think give them a call they are pretty helpful and willing to answer all kinds of questions

Unless you modify the HX35 I think a 74 mm (I am assuming you mean inducer) will have more flow than the HX35 turbine housing can handle without having some backpressure issues. Not saying it can't make power, just feel the turbo on the new trucks is kinda small on the turbine side. Obviously if your not throwing tons of fuel to it then that set up will be ok.

I was only guessing... . yes I meant inducer. I've read articles about a 71mm inducer being a good match for a HX35W. I just figured a 74mm would be closer to the HX35E since the 3rd gens fuel harder. His mods as of now are Crazy Larry/EZ stack, MBRP 5 to 4" duals, AFE. He is only seeing 27lbs max boost with the stocker... . obvious boost leak or something. I tried pulling the EZ off & adding a boost fooler, but that didn't help..... boost dropped to 18psi. I think it is because he has the boost fooler on the turbo & boost fooler on the map sensor [quadzilla] running together. I am going to pull the turbo fooler off & see what happens... . then check for leaks.

Well we checked for boost leaks tonight & the intercooler boots have minimum leaking. Tightened them up & tried to only run the quadzilla boost fooler & crazy larry..... 18psi max. We gotta do something soon... . egts are 1600 on crazy larry. How can I adjust the boost on the HX35E? He gets 27psi with crazy/ ez, but with no ez & boost fooler... only 18.
