Malfunction Indicator Light

Well The MIL came on and has stayed on no flashing or anything. The only thing It's doing is if I use the remote start it will only stay running for about 5 sec or so then shuts down. I've got an appointment with the dealer Monday. But was wondering what others may think is causing it.

Without the codes being retrieved and investigating them.....It's almost similar to asking "How long is a piece of rope???"

:-laf Yeah I was just a shot in the dark. So as they say give me enough rope. :--)

I will DonFitzwater. It has me puzzled truck is running just fine except for the remote start issue.

If I'm not mistaken, when an emissions related component is out of spec, the remote start will not function correctly.

Any CEL or low fuel light condition will not permit a remote start.

• RKE PANIC button not pressed

Wasn't just a remote start issue. But I did get it taken care of and after looking at what was on the paper they gave me I seen it has been posted about by some others on the TDR. Shutting off when using the remote start Code U3017 Posted by DILLWINKLE ON 10/20/14. And TSB 18-045-15 by Vyrl on12/10/15. They did the updates and all is right in MR Rodgers world. So there it is DonFitzwater. Thank You all for the imput I know there are answers on here to the problems that come about.

My CEL has been coming on intermittently as well. The most recent was last week. Had 3 EVIC messages then the CEL came on. Next day my touch screen locked up temporarily. CEL shut off Monday. Last November I had the dealer do an oil change which happened to be a time when the CEL was on. At that time the dealer said FCA was aware of the problem but had no remedy. Has there been a TSB issued for this? If so Id really like to have the # to show my dealer. FYI,the u3017 code and a 2014 3500 w/Aisin.

I have a 2012 with the same thing, MIL light has been on for about a month. I took it to the local dealer (they are about a joke) and was told I was showing a P2000 code, NOx adsorber efficiency below threshold bank 1. Any clues to what this might be? The dealership said "Cummins is in a fix for this concern. Once a fix is avail. chrysler will be in contact with the customer. No repairs at this time"
