The engine warning indicator/icon came on. Truck is a 2006 3500 with 90k miles. I tried retrieving error code by turning ignition off and on 3 times quickly. Nothing displayed so I brought truck to dealer. The code referred to a malfunctioning turbo waste gate actuator (activator). The dealer said that there was a corroded wire. Told must replace unit. Cost $325 for unit and $325 for installation. My mechanic skills are limited. Is there an alternative to the dealer recommendation? Thanks Bruce

It is fairly simple to remove the wastegate solenoid and install a new one. Once you have the new part in hand to look at it will make sense.

If you need just the soleniod, I have one off a used '06 turbo. If you pay for the shipping, it's yours. PM me for more details.
