My Mallory fuel pump died today. I did some reading up on the latest fuel/lift pump issues, and decided to go with the PE4200, until I found out you can't get them. So now what? Any other good pump recomendations? Otherwise I guess its time for a new mallory until something else comes out. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

you can repair the mallory fuel pumps, I've had mine for two years or so, when it fails, I take the top off and put new brushes in. The brushes are 15 bucks.

I generally get the brushes at a competent auto parts store, but those are hard to find. Parks out here carries them, and most of the hotrod/performance shops will have them as well or they can order them. I've gotten where I carry a spare set in the glove box as they are very small and I don't have to worry when I'm on a long trip if it goes out. It's a 15 minute job of replacing the brushes when they go out.

F.A.S.S. ?????

I've seen this, but I don't get it:(

Where does this go, and how does this solve our delivery of volumn and pressure? Lots of other claimed benefits, but nothing I can see that speaks to psi... . protection of VP44, etc.

Question for Morph, did you mount the mallory in the stock location or by the tank? My stock one is just starting to go and am trying to figure out what setup to go with. What part # on the mallory pump?

I cut the main fuel line back by the tank and mounted the mallory on the inside framerail. It's a mallory 4140 (140 gph). I then ran Stainless Steel Braided fuel line from the pump to the fuel filter, then from the fuel filter to the Injector pump. Using all aeroquip fittings. For the electronics, I used the stock wires to a switch in the cab at an undisclosed location, from the switch, I goto a relay and the relay turns on the pump. This way, the pump maintains the same characteristics of the stock pumps run cycles, and I also have a cutoff switch in the cab.
