I ran in my first Pro bracket this year at Pacific Raceway, going toe to toe for 5 rounds! :D I beat 2 previous points leaders, and finally lost in the semis to the current champ (68 Road Runner) by . 0014. I tied for 3rd, earning a pay check, and putting me tied for third in points standings at Pacific. The tech guys mentioned in passing the height discrepency and their dislike of what Mission had said to me.

Also got to sign my first autographs, which is embarrassing but soooo flattering!! Signed a couple of shirts and pictures. Too frickin' cool... (blush) :D

Hey way to go Rhonda! Autographs and a pay check! The money's probably nice, but the autographs make it all worth while.

P. S. I'll want a signed picture at Piers this fall

:)

Thanks guys! :) Jim, I run in the "Pro" category, which is basically one step up from Sportsman, which is kinda the beginner class. I had to move to Pro because my truck runs quicker than 13. 00. Now I'm glad I moved up! :D

Another interesting thing took place: I usually run in the right lane so that my smoke won't bother my fellow competitors. In the eliminations, I only went in the right lane on the first run; after that all my competitors chose the right side. I warned each of them that they'd be coming at me from behind (they have the faster cars), and that they'd have to deal with the smoke. I personally don't care which lane I run in.

After each run the guys I beat would come up to congratulate me and shake my hand, and told me that the smoke was no problem at all. It didn't block the light or their view of the track. Same with the guy that beat me. Kinda funny, since the tech guy at Mission who didn't like my crankshaft height had told me that there had been complaints about my exhaust last season... Maybe somebody just doesn't like getting beat by a truck. :p
