Anyone have experience with MAN trucks here in the US? I have never seen or heard of a MAN truck dealer here in the US.

How do they stack up against the US manufactures? They seem to be nice rigs with good power and can even come in an 8X8 configuration for off road.

Can't help you, but I see them all over the place in Europe. A friend of mine is a truck driver in Spain and he says there are very few American trucks over there. I believe he said they are too long...

Man trucks in the US

Unless I missed something, you are not likely to see any either. Nothing with a hood on it that I could find. With very little demand for heavy duty COE trucks these days and the marketplace full of light and medium duty ones, MAN would have to take the DaimlerBenz backdoor approach.

When I was stationed over in Germany, I saw a couple of Freightliners that were EU spec. The trucks over there are designed to perform a lot differently than what the american trucks do.

I spent two years in Israel and there were a lot of them there. Most had the twin steering axles because of the heavy loads they pull over there. They don't have weigh stations. If you can load it, you can tow it. They also had a lot of MAN powered buses.

I use to say that when I won the lottery the first thing I would buy is a big ol Prevost Bus (RV)... . that was until I saw these bad boys in Africa.

They can go places the mighty CTD Dodge can't go... and in luxury.
