Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) manual to auto conversion??

due to physical limitations, I am wanting to convert from a manual to an auto. I have located the exact yr model truck with an auto. Can some one chime in and let me know what is in store. I will not be doing this myself, have some GOOD friends willing to give it a try. thanx `02 3500 5-spd. long bed 2-whl dr. Oo.
