i was just curious if any one has used the suncoast valve body and thier tcm to run there truck. was thinking of going to an auto and useing there kit,i was told there set up works very well, thanks for any info

dodger Id be interested in possibly switching my truck to auto . Do you know where i can read up about what you are talking about an what is involved thanks :D

The biggest mistake I ever made was buying my truck with an Auto in it. My son has an 03 with a manual and it is a much better truck.

I would have to agree on that. I really didnt put much thought into it when I bought my truck. Once you start to add power you loose alot of it compared to a manual, unless you have a built automatic. I know for next time though:)

The automatic on my truck has been the biggest money drain; in the first year I had to spend over $3,000 just to get it to tow my trailer without smoking the stock converter. Just had it replaced again for $4,000 plus. I just think of all the upgrades I could have done with that money. Twin turbos, twin clutch disk, would be a different truck.

I have 105K miles on my truck and my auto transmission has problems for the second time. I don't pull hardly anything but my wife and me. A good rebuild on an auto is hard to beat and I love my transmission in traffic stop and go times. I kick myself also for not buying a stick. At least I could take it apart and fix whatever goes wrong. I live near Portland, Oregon if somebody wants a swap! I'll throw in two auto 47RE trannys and two torque converters to clear my barn. LOL

I run suncoast's setup & it is the best thing since sliced bread for our transmissions. It gives you complete control over every aspect of the trans. I will have an article in one of the upcomming issues of TDR once I get back down to suncoast to have a shift lever from a 6. 7 put in so I will be able to select what gear I want to be in. It realy does not get any better than this. If you have questions, call up Ron at suncoast & he can tell you anything you might want to know. Scott

I've got Suncoast converter and internals in my transmission. Installed it all around 40k when my stock trans started to let loose. I'm at 100k now and starting to see some issues again. It pisses me off that I bought the auto instead of the 6-speed. It's the only thing on the truck that has really given me a problem.
