Just upgraded the mirrors on my 02 2500 to power/heated and I have the original OEM tow mirrors available to anyone interested for $50 for the pair plus shipping on a 20 lb package. The only part that is not included is the backing plate as the new mirrors needed them. (I even scrubbed off 99% of the bugs. LOL )

(yes, I know about the classifieds ... but I want to post this and leave... not spend a day creating a classified account)

Yes, I went from the manual flip up tow mirrors to the heated/power flip up tow mirrors.
I had considered the Kool Vue but went with a a set from US AUto Parts Depot. (ebay store)

$317 for the pair and they look and feel identical to the OEM. (the truck doesn't look any different) Also picked up the Power Mirror Switch with knob for $8 and the heater/AC control with the heated mirror switch for $15. All of the wiring and fusing was installed. Everything just plugged in.

Where did you find these?

Does anyone know what bracket is needed to complete the conversion. I have the regular black small mirrors that are heated and power? The ads for the mirrors speak of a bracket that is order thru the dealer which sounds like mo money. Let me know what you guys think

The brackets are triangular backing plates that go on the inside of the door and the mirror screws pass through the door and the plate. It distributes the extra weight of the mirror.
I vaguely remember reading that they are about $15 each. The part numbers are K55156128 and K55156129.

So, will all the Ram trucks have wiring for the power options, even if the OEM mirrors are manual?

My passenger tow mirror has become loose, and I need to perform the fix to tighten the ball joint. But, if I can replace with the powered/heated tow mirrors, it would be a nice upgrade.

Thanks to all who have explored this swap option.

Others, more knowledgeable will have to confirm this, but I have been finding that there is only ONE main harness that is installed in the RAM and it has all the plugs for all the options.

The only items I've found that are needed are: 1. power heated mirrors, 2. backing plates, 3. controller switch and know and 4. cab temp control with mirror heat switch. The wiring has all been there.

To check on your truck concerning the mirrors, remove the one screw on the inside of the door at the mirror, pull the plastic back a bit and look down inside with a flashlight. If you see two plugs, one large, one small, you are ready. (one plug is the mirror and the other is the controller) On the passenger side there will only be one plug.

On the cab environment control on the dash you will find a plug plugged into a jack in the bottom corner of the unit. If you unplug it and look at the jack you will find that it is just a hole. If you change the unit to one that has the mirror heat control build in, that jack has contacts.
