I'm intersted in installing a transmission cooler for my 5600. I've seen the Fast Coolers web site and the stuff looks pretty good. Anybody using one of these? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

:D I put mine on about 2 month ago. I got two installed with the Lexan cover on the passengers side. Gives me the ability to check the level. I did install a huge magnet in the Left side one. Go to Napa and get a can of gasket maker called The Right Stuff. Looks like a black Cheese Whiz can. Made by permatex. You will not have any leaks. I used a new 2 gallon garden sprayer from sears to put my oil in and then pumped it up and just filled the rascal up. I'm very happy with them. :D The 2 gallon sprayer is great for servicing up the axles and such.

I have them also , I like the fact that they hold more oil, since there was only 3 3/4 quarts to begin with. I also tow trailers almost daily, and have noticed a drop in temps. Not to mention the magnetic dipsticks, drain plug, and a temp sender port, you can't go wrong.

Mundgyver,

Outstanding idea on using a modified weed sprayer. Little tidbits of info like this is what makes this site what it is. Thanks. :)

:D Now how come my wife don't understand me like you guys do? Man she was upset that I would buy a perfectly good weed sprayer and then do something dum like cut off the tip and fill it with oil for the truck. :( Course I only married her for eternity, the truck and me are bonded at the hip wouldn't you know. :D :D

I use the Fast Coolers, half height version. I made up 1/4" thick aluminum end plates, bolted a magnet inside the left one. You can fill the trans with a floppy plastic bottle and squeezing it (Ford used to supply them with their diff gears; don't know if they still do). Or, buy a 3/4 NPT street elbow, thread it into the fill hole, and pour the lube into it slowly.

I have them installed on my truck. I like the idea of having added capacity and added cooling with a simple design. I was suprised how hot the transmission was when I crawled underneath the truck after towing and started checking the drivetrain temps.
