Well after exhaustive research here I will ask the group this as I didn't find what I was looking for. Its seems like my 98 has begun to have issues with the neutral safety switch. When you attempt to start it,you will never know how far it needs the pedal pushed in as each time it is different. I run a EEP double with the bigger hydraulics and have no issues with the clutch at all, except for this minor glitch. After a call to the gang out in Thornville I recieved a new switch and with a day or two off coming up finally I was going to do the change. While looking at my repair manual it had a comment saying,"if the switch is malfunctioning then you need to replace the entire hydraulics". That got my mind off wandering on other possible ideas and that lead me here.
With the hydraulics on the clutch unit not malfunctioning and the clutch same as it was many miles ago, having plenty of holding power,is it possible to... .
1-Change just the neutral safety switch without a complete change of the hydraulics?.
OR
2-Eliminate the switch on the hydraulics and wire to a remote key switch which would also act as a anti-theft device so that with out it the truck would not start. I do of course realize that then the cruise would not disengage with a clutch pedal depression but thats not a worry to me.
Any ideas gang are appreciated... ... ..... Andy
