I just finished my transmission temp gauge install for my 6 speed. Piece of cake. I used the fabcraft pto cover with 1/8 npt fitting, Autometer trans gauge (100 to 250) and walla... . installed.

After stop and go traffic, cruising at 70 I was able to get temps up to 165. Now i know whats going on in there;) ;) ;)

Can you buy the cover alone or do you have to get it as part of a kit? I already have the gauge and sensor but have no way to mount it. Do you have a WWW site ot number for the fabcraft company?

Yes, you can buy just the plate alone, thats what I did. It was about 80. 00 if I can remember, wasn't cheap however its a nice piece of aluminum. Heres the number Fabcraft metal works 1-800-208-8242. Also in issue 36 page 15 you can see there ad. I think this is a good alternative to fast coolers, I have yet to see my temps go over 180. RC

This is what I did, I had meant to get have a plate set up prior to installing my rebuilt transmission but did not have time. Making note on how the Mag-Hytec sensor tap is set up to sense the oil sloshing around on top, I figured I would try that on the 5spd. I used the fill plug by reducing down to my sensor with bushings. Running along about 70mph with 4:10's, it works just fine. Locally of course, their is not much to see.

I figure the next time I do an oil change out maybe I will set up the plate.
