Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Manual transmission with a transmission over temp error code

I have a 98. 5 with a NV4500 and I am getting a transmission over temp error for an automatic . witch not a big deal it has been this way for a while but now with the new california smog checks I need to get this fixed so the check engine light does not fail my test . any help on this would be great . Thanks

I'd be doing some research to find out if the PCM was replaced or if the truck was an auto at some point. The Manual trans. programming should not even have that parameter in it.

The vin shows that is was a stick truck from the factory . I was thinking of taking the truck into dodge and have them look at it and maybe try a re-flash of the PCM .
