Just got my new order from Geno's and I bought one of the manual transmission filter kits.

This an Eaton Fuller product and has generic instructions. Depending on which way oil is slung in the transmission dictates the up from the down on the cover.

Can somebody answer the question of how this gets mounted on the Dodge application? I was going to put on the left (drivers) side of a 6 speed if that makes a difference.

Also, what is the gasket placement? There is a cork gasket and a paper gasket included. Which gasket goes where?

All oils will be changed soon with the transmission filter added and a Mag Hytec on the rear. LP and bigger banjos and Larry B's all waiting to go in too, followed by new radiator hoses and anti freeze before winter.

you want this kit on the passenger side of the transmission. The oil is slung off the gear set into the filter area before it returns to the sump, placing it over the driver side it will not see near as much oil. The gaskets are pictured in the diagram with the kit. I don't have it in front of me but i think the paper is first, then the plate, then the cork. Keep in mind it adds a little more oil capacity so have enough on hand.

Thanks. There was no diagram included. I was going with the drivers side because that is the side that I usually used for draining. The instructions seem to indicate that I may be able to turn over if I switch sides????????

You can mount it on the driver side upside down, as long as the scoop faces into the gear rotation its ok, they are usually mounted on the pasenger side right side up. The Wix # for the filter is 51548.

Thanks. Geno's needs to make up some instructions and include them in the package. Anybody got a definate answer on the gasket placement or does somebody have a diagram they could sent me?

First, throw the cork in the trash, second go to the parts house and get more PTO gaskets and some RTV silicone. The cork gasket has a tendency to come out if you overtighten the bolts. This is what I do for 5 years now, works so far.

I used some good old fashioned Permatex on mine with good results.

Thanks for the gasket info. I have changed the oil twice before and used blue RTV both times with nary a problem, so actually having a gasket is something new.
