I'm getting the same code. Just recently put on a new PDR hot rod vp44, cranked it, and got about 4 codes, including the dreaded 216 code again. Not sure why, but I cleared the code, and it hasn't come back. It must have just been in there from before or something. I still get a "pending" P0236 code, and I can feel it in the power. It builds boost slower than normal, and also smokes like a freight train (although it's kinda funny on 5x5 like this. Whole rows of people behind me swerve wildly to get out of the way of my smoke clouds...

I can darken an entire block of street. ) As amusing as that may be short term, it's a PITA long term, and I would much rather have my power back as well.
I have a new MAP sensor installed. Still nothing.
I just recently unpluged the comp's connector to the map sensor harness. It was kinda grimy, so I sprayed it down good with contact cleaner. I'm waiting for that to dry well before energizing it again. Hopefully that did the trick, but we'll see.
Anyone know if there's fluid like fuel or other grime in that connector while it's energized, if it could have shorted anything out, or caused any permanent damage to anything? I just blew all my money on a new VP44... don't want to have to buy a new ECM too... (unless, Marco's were ready yet... ). I have a diagnostic manual, and it has replacing the ECM as the last step. I just hope it doesn't get to that. Also, it doesn't take into account the drag comp. I hope it's something simple, since it's not the map sensor.
