I'm wondering if the OEM MAP sensors are more likely to fail with higher than stock turbo boost? Let's try a poll and see whether or not MAP failures show a greater incidence at higher boost levels!

Gary: Have you had a MAP or IAT faillure. If so, what are the symptoms? I cleaned mine and have noticed no difference. I have had a little more smoke than previously and was wondering if this might be the cause.
Gary I had to replace mine within the last 6 months. Got here was only about $43 plus $11 for an adaptor.

How come the adapter?
I have 120,000 miles with mild mods, not problems yet. I did have my first EZ fail with codes and CEL. When it would "act" up, it seemed to be running in stock power.

Need the adapter because they quit making the ones for the 2002's. It uses one for a 2001 and you need an adapter to make it work. That' why the dealer's are charging $200+ a pop for them plus the $38 for the adapter. Imagine that they have to stock less, but they charge you more for it???
The Map sensor can read up to 50 PSI. I dont think 40 will kill one any sooner. They just seem to wear out over time.
