To replace the original MAP sensor on my '99, the job required a 32 mm deep socket to remove the old sensor. To install the new Cummins replacement #4921497, a 1 1/16", 6pt, NOT 12pt, deep socket can used or probably a 27 mm deep, 6pt.

I found the perfect fit was Dad's old oil-pressure sensor socket from 40 years ago. That is a Mac #SC46 and perfectly fits the rounded corners of the new Cummins part.

I hope this helps you. Because the sensor is almost impossible to see, I thought that I would use the socket that fit the new sensor to remove the old sensor. Wrong!

It's great to have fuel and boost again. Price for the sensor was about $53 from my local Cummins Dealer.

P. S. Problems symptoms were: very low on power, some bucking early during failure.
