I have a Edge pro box and I am getting an engine light and dead throttle response. When the Edge is taken out of the circuit, the truck runs OK with no engine light. Fuel pressure is 7-10 normal and not getting on it. Once I plug the Edge back into the map bypass and put the truck in gear, the engine light will come on and the truck has no power at all. The Edge was checked by the factory and they said it is good. I don't have the wire pinched for the extra fueling and never have. Can a MAP sensor still be the problem and can it be cleaned. Any suggestions.

I am not familiar with the Edge Pro Box, but did it come with a boost fooler? If so, did you install it? If the ECM sees more than 20psi of boost, it will defuel the engine, causing a poor peformance issue and will set a DTC (diagnostic trouble code). Depending on the year model of your truck, (2000 or newer) you can check for these codes by turning the ignition on, off, on, off, on and do not start. Watch the odometer, it will flash p codes first for the PCM, then for the ECM.

Yes, you can clean the MAP with some throttle body cleaner, but they are not that expensive and relatively easy to change.

I would also remove all electrical connections, clean, pack with dielectric grease, and reassemble; clean all visible grounds also.

I would clean the MAP, you might want to consider replacing the MAP sensor. They are available from both Dodge and Cummins. The price should be around $80, so don't get ripped off by the dealer.

p0234: Turbo Boost Limit Exceeded

p0237: MAP Sensor Voltage Too Low

The overboost code (p0234) was probably caused by having the edge connected and not having a boost fooler. If the MAP sees more than 20psi of boost, you will set this code and the engine will de-fuel.

The undervoltage code (p0237) usually indicates a failed MAP sensor. Depending on how many miles you have on the truck, the conditions you drive in, and the air filter (I am looking at K&N for this), you MAP sensor could have died. Overall, they are not difficult to change, I believe that you only need a 1 1/8" deep socket to change it, but I can not remember and the socket could be larger.

Let us know what happens.
