I have heard on here and else wear that if you discconnt your mapp sensor it wil make lots of smoke due to mechanical fueling. Taking a way the boost fueling. Is this true and will it harm the truck? Second where is this sensor on a 2004. 5.

This is true my brother's was disconnected and made lots of smoke and couldn't get out of it's own way. It is located up on the fuel rail oblong plug.

I tried disconnecting mine and my truck did not smoke at all and went into limp mode. I had to hook up a smoke switch to accomodate my needs.

Thats the rail pressure sensor.

The MAP sensor is close to it but located on the manifold plentum.

Either one unplugged will throw the truck into LIMP mode.

I pulled I green plug kinda below fuel filter. Noothing happened. Is this the map sensor? If not where is it? Where is the rail pressure sensor?

Thanks for straightening me out on that, I was coming off my "Crack hi" Dah

So the MAP is above the fuel pod where the fuel goes to the injectors? Does it have four wires or two? Will my truck start to smoke at idle or do I have to run it awhile?

I pulled that sensor LIMP. Do I have to pull the whole thing or just the elec connector? With a stock truck will it make smoke or just go limp?

It should not function with that sensor unplugged. Stock or otherwise the ECM needs a signal from that sensor.

Gauges comming soon. Smarty POD, transmission and anything else that needs beefing up soon after that. Evenly sticks, turbo, and who knows what else. I just think it would be fun to have alittle smoke for fun. Thats what I wanna mess with the sensor for.

The Smarty will make it smoke if you turn it up high enough. You'll get more smoke with a big laggy turbo if that's really what you're after. Keep an eye on EGTs if your turning up the fuel with the stock turbo too.

The only thing you really want to do to the sensors is fool the signal going to the ECM. You can't just disconnect any of them and expect the ECM to be happy.
