2nd Central Fla Meeting

SACRAMENTO april28 meet spaghetti factory

Ok guys make your plans for the weekend of March 17. At Jordan Lake State Park, near Raleigh. A few members have expressed interest in camping. I need to know if there is going to be enough interest to reserve one of the group campsites. All sites will have elec. and water. We can have about 10 sites for one fixed rate, very cheap. #ad
#ad
For those not planning to camp, we will have a cookout Sat. lunchtime. If not enough interest in camping I'll just get us a picnic spot, so please let me know your plans ASAP.
Oh yeah, I plan to install my SPA gauges that weekend. So those that wish to see it done can get some advice. More importantly those that have done it can help me out. #ad

Wes,
I'm up for anything. I kinda like the idea of a cookout. It gives the kids a chance to run around and burn off some excess energy. Since we're not in the trailer crowd, and if it's up to the boss never will be, camping may be a bit much for her. We may have to opt for the all day Saturday thing. If she doesn't want to go, I can take one of the guys with me. I'd really like to see/help with the gauge install before I do it myself. However it plays out, barring any emergency, I'll be there.

Wes, doesn't look good for March, no camper and other things seem to coming up for March. April looks like it will be in Tenn. so looks like I'll see eveyone in May. Pete

Pete
I think several will just be there on SAT. for a few hours. If you don't make we will catch you the next time. I've got a couple of CB related things I need your assistance with.
Wes

Wes:

I will be unable to make the March 17th
meeting. I have to work again. Sorry
about that. Hope to see you in April or
May.

Wes,
I'm one of those "Saturday only" people. Wish we could be "campers", but it's just not in the cards right now. Let me know if there's anything I can do or bring.

David

I'll cruise up for Saturday's festivities but can't stay the night. I'm big into the outdoors but have to go out of town early Monday. I'm down here between Raeford and Aberdeen, let me know if you need anything.

Alright Butch we look forward to meeting you. Once we get a tally on number of people we might need to get some folks to bring drinks or something for lunch. I'll let you know in a couple of days.

John
That old work thing bites again, I guess you got to pay for that beast of a truck somehow. #ad

Wes:

Yes, unfortunately the "work thing" does
bite again. But..... it is not so much
to pay for my truck (it's paid for) but
to finish paying for my son's college
education!!

Thanks for noticing though!

Hello All
I think we will be attending with the camper and gang. I'm not a 100% sure on the camper, but my truck and I will be there.
I need the when and where, I will pester Pete and see if I can drag him up there for the meeting/EATING part of it. Anyone you know up that way have a pig cooker?? I may be there friday evening (Don't know yet for sure) and we can roast a hog and throw on some yard bird (chicken) if you want to? Hog down here goes for 89 cents a pound ready for the grill. I'll cook it and chop it all we would need is about a 75/80 pounder, I do not have a cooker though. Just a thought let me know ??
I need directions to the camp ground prior to the week end of the 11th, after that I 'm not sure where I will be till the 15th.
See Ya

Hey Chris
Glad to see that you are still around. I like the idea of a pig pickin, I am sure that I can handle the cooker. First we need to get a head count. Here is what we have so far.

Outrider 2
Chaulser 2
David 4

Haven't heard from a few of the regulars yet though. Bill, Stan, John, Danny, If we are going to cook a pig, we need to get these numbers straight, so we can get one ordered. Let me know if the numbers are right, or if anyone else is planning on attending.

Right now looks like we have 4 folks planning on camping Fri and Sat. nights. With the rest joining us for the day. Should be fun.

I'll be posting the directions and specifics soon.

Wes, add Mo and myself to the list. We will only be there for a few hours on Saturday (too early for us to break out the trailer). What is the backup plan if the weather is nasty??

May have a 32 gallon aluminum auxiliary tank installed by the meeting if anyone is interested (total cost approx. $300).

OK Gang here is the location and some info. on the Jordan Lake
Campground. Some items to note: The gates are open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
So for those arriving on Fri. plan to get there before 7:00 (let me know if
this is a problem, we could probably get it opened for you) and for those
coming on SAT. AM don't get there too soon. #ad

Crosswinds campground is easy to find. From Hwy 64 turn north at Wilsonville. There are good signs pointing the way. This intersection has a Stop light with 2 gas stations, caddy corner from one another. If you are coming in from the west it is after you cross the lake. If coming in from the east if you see the lake you've missed it. If you come in from the North, you must know where your going so I won't bother you. If you come in from the south, your lost already. #ad

Map of lake area (campground is #4 on the map) http://ils.unc.edu/parkproject/pdffiles/jord.pdf

Also state parks do not allow alcoholic beverages, so bring a big
plastic cup to enjoy your favorite beverage. #ad
#ad
We have never had a problem as
long as we don't flaunt it around, or get to rambunctious.
For the RV'ers the campsites are water and elec. No sewer, dumpstation is
on the way out. There is also a nice shower/restroom area. We will be
close to the restrooms. There is the possibility that if it is cold, the
water at the individual sites will not be turned on, but there is good water
available to fill your tanks.
We cannot make reservations, sites are first come first serve. I plan on
getting there about 2:00 on Fri. afternoon. I will try to reserve our sites
then. Fees are $17/night pay by cash or check (no credit card). When you
get there head for Loop B. Look for my rig Driftwood QuadCab 4x4 with a 28'
Wilderness 5th wheel. Shouldn't be very many folks there, so it will be
easy to find me.

Here is a direct link to Jordan Lake Crosswinds campground. We will be on
Loop B (probably the only
one open) http://ils.unc.edu/parkproject/jordcrc.html

For lunch on Sat, we will try to eat at noon, I will take care of the
meat. I would like some volunteers to bring drinks, side dishes, etc. Let me
know if you can bring something.

Those coming for the day on SAT. show up whenever you desire, the
earlier the better. I still plan on installing the remainder of my gauges
for those that are interested in learning or those that want to teach me!! #ad

Bring your lawn chairs and plan on spending the whole day with us if you
can. There is usually a day fee for visitors, but the ranger says the toll
booth won't be open yet, so no fee. I guess it is possible that you might
have to pay a couple of bucks, sorry I'm not for sure on this one.

I have ordered perfect weather highs around 70 lows in the 50's, no rain. #ad
#ad

So don't worry about the weather I'll figure something out if need be.

Look forward to seeing you all soon,
Wes
